What This Test Involves:

• Direct Wet Mounts
• McMasters Flotation
• Pinworm Count (if a reference range is available)
• Centrifugal Flotation (for wild-caught reptiles)
• Cryptosporidium (staining/antigen testing)
• Giardia, Salmonella, and Campylobacter Antigen Tests

Sample: do not fill more than 75% or 3/4 of the pot.

Salmonella routine screening is generally not advised by the CDC and ARAV, due to the fact that reptiles can be intermittent shedders of the bacteria and therefore false negatives are possible. They should be considered carriers.
