Abi joined our team very recently and will play an important role in order for the laboratory to function on a daily basis.
She studied photography and Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) before starting training as a veterinary nurse which are very important components of our laboratory work. The photography of parasites is an important part of our day to day work as images are then used for lecturing and or publications in the field. Understanding the health and safety in the laboratory environment in another important factor she learned during her training.
She has worked as a pet shop assistant in the past has worked in small animal veterinary practice for over 5 years and always had a great interest in veterinary parasitology. Client education, parasite prevention and treatment is is a major part of daily veterinary practice.
Abi enjoys travelling, gardening, art and photography. She has pets which include a dog, cats, a snake, a rabbit, but has also kept a whole range of other animals including chameleons, Leopard Geckos, degus.
